2021 Hour of Code is December 6-12

Hour of Code is held in conjunction with Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek), an annual call to action to inspire students to learn computer science. This year’s theme is #CSEverywhere – Computer Science has an impact everywhere. We are once again providing you with this awesome list of Hour of Code activities.

Family Coding Event! Saturday, December 4, 2:00-3:30pm, Online, guided and free!

Kids grade K-5 and families – Join Random Hacks of Kindness Jr. (Newtown CT), and Robotics And Beyond, for three 20-minute introductory coding activities, in your own home. These activities are designed to take the mystery out of “code” for kids of all ages, and adults, and show that anybody can learn to code. The virtual classes will be held using Zoom. Register via Random Hacks of Kindness, Jr.

Robotics And Beyond has created some really great in-depth coding blogs for at-home learning.

PARENTS: If you have a student in 4th Grade or below, please read these helpful hints from the Hour of Code site to help get them started.

Robotics And Beyond Toolkit is our free STEM activity newsletter. We have 18 issues with activities for young students through high school, including many related to computer science.

Beanz Magazine is a fantastic and inexpensive resource for everything related to computer science, coding and hardware and cool projects that are great learning tools. Great reading too! Subscription-based but all issues before 2017 are available for free.
